Editorial Review Kindhearted but noisy, Harold the Helicopter likes to drop in on the Island of Sodor to visit his railway friends. This 4-inch sturdy wood helicopter is white with a sleek red racing stripe above his name. With a rotating propeller and plastic landing pontoons, Harold is ready for action. Based on the popular Thomas the Tank Engine series by Reverend W. Awdry and the PBS television show Shining Time Station, this flying fellow is part of the much-loved wooden railway system, which is compatible with other magnetic train sets. You can reenact all the exciting stories in the series or make up new ones. Thomas fans won't want to miss out on any of these fun, well-built railway characters. --Emilie Coulter

My son's favorite Thomas item November 20, 2000 Jody (Leominster, MA USA) 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
My almost-3-year-old has been carrying Harold around with him everywhere he goes for a year now. Of all the Thomas items we own, this one is his very favorite. He loves to spin the blades, and I like that he can't break it.This is the one piece (besides Thomas) that I feel I need to have an "extra" on hand in case it gets lost.
love it! July 29, 2003 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
My son has this toy. He loves it. The plastic rotors keep breaking off,(we are on our 3rd Harold and have to get a 4th now.) I have had a hard time trying to find out who to contact for replacement now that the company has switched hands.
We Love Harold!!! June 22, 2005 Pam Tee 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Buy Harold! Don't be like me, waiting and wondering if Harold would be a waste of money. He won't be.
My thinking was that my son was, afterall, 'into' Thomas the Tank Engine and the other Steamies, not air travel.
I SHOULD have bought Harold sooner! He loves him. Harold pretty much goes everywhere that Thomas goes... into the bath, into the sandbox and whatever mud puddles are available. And he has held up pretty good. A little missing paint, but otherwise unscathed.
Great buy-- afterall, sometimes the rails *are* blocked and you do need someone delivering the mail.
Note:
I see that others have had prop problems but we have not. Maybe my child isn't as hard on his toys as I thought.
Something other than a train... May 20, 2002 Peter Morse (Seattle, WA USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Behind Thomas, this is our son's 2nd favorite character. He tends to carry it around with him all day. It's extremely durable (as are all Thomas items).
Lots of fun, but easily broken March 10, 2004 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My 3 year old son did chores around the house to buy this toy himself. We were very disappointed when one of the rotors broke off within a month. I was with him when it broke. He was not doing anything rough with it. He didn't even drop it. We did not realize there was a guarantee. We've glued it back together at least 10 times. I don't know if that voids the guarantee or not. Otherwise, it is a great toy. My son carries it all over the place. He says it is his favorite.
